The Scott Foundation
Established in 2014 by President Shannon Hunt-Scott and her husband and co-founder Kevin Scott, the Scott Foundation was borne out of a desire to give back to the Silicon Valley community where they work and raise their family.
Initially focusing on supporting leading-edge organizations addressing critical needs such as childhood hunger, early childhood education, and women and girls in technology, the foundation’s strategy evolved as they gained a deeper understanding of the challenges within the communities they serve. While maintaining deep local giving and partnerships with innovative community leaders in Silicon Valley, the Scott Foundation has expanded its efforts to drive impact and create systemic change at the national level. By partnering with organizations developing solutions to community challenges and employing a hands-on, highly personal approach to grantmaking, the foundation has fueled meaningful change in educational equity, social entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and social and reproductive justice.
Since its inception, The Scott Foundation has distributed over $5 million to grantees. Through active partnerships and steadfast support of social impact leaders, they relentlessly devote time, talent, and passion to provide children and young adults with opportunities and resources that have a lasting impact on their lives. They believe that by providing tools and developing mindsets, they can help children become changemakers in their lives, families, and communities, enabling these young people to grow into active, engaged citizens fueled by curiosity and confidence.
