On November 13th, 2025, our "Conversations for Good” series returned with REDEFINING IMPACT, a compelling evening that explored, challenged, and engaged deeply with current assumptions about what impact looks like, who creates it, and the voices and perspectives needed in the room where impact is created - and implemented.

Our speakers explored the diverse ways - personal, economic, and collective - that can help us better engage with impact, change, and the benefits of diverse perspectives in shaping a better, brighter future for all.

PROGRAM

CONVERSATION 1: Reimagining Money

“Reimagining Money” invites us to look beyond profit and philanthropy to explore money as a mirror of our values and a tool for transformation. From shifting billions away from harm to designing new systems for inclusive wealth and restorative capital, this conversation examines how finance, justice, and imagination can coexist. Let’s reimagine our sense of what capital really means  and how everyday decisions about money can serve people and the planet.

  • Bulbul Gupta, Pacific Community Ventures
  • Jasmine Rashid, Author of The Financial Activist Playbook

CONVERSATION 2: Reclaiming Community

“Reclaiming Community” explores how pride, creativity, and cultural memory can serve as powerful forms of social infrastructure. Through the lens of arts, storytelling, and local agency, this panel uncovers how communities thrive when they invest in and center their assets. You can cultivate beauty, belonging, and resilience in your own neighborhoods.

  • Chike Nwoffiah, Silicon Valley African Film Festival
  • Lou Jimenez, San José Downtown Association

CONVERSATION 3: Rewriting Possibility

Hack, Hustle, and Design the Future in this interactive workshop session with Olatunde Sobomehin, Founder and CEO of Streetcode Academy! Our final conversation, “Rewriting Possibility,” is all about turning creativity into action. Inspired by the book “Creative Hustle: Blaze Your Own Path and Make Work That Matters”, by Olatunde Sobomehin and sam seidel, this session will invite us to reflect on how we align our gifts, our goals, and our grind — the things we do every day — with the impact we want to make in the world. Through stories of real creative hustlers and a few hands-on moments, we’ll explore what it means to design a life that moves you closer to what you’re meant to create. It’s a chance to pause, imagine, and map out practical next steps toward your own creative hustle.

  • Olatunde Sobomehin, Streetcode Academy

ABOUT CONVERSATIONS FOR GOOD

"Conversations for Good" began in November of 2023 - a group of technologists, entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and innovators join us on stage to talk about imagination in action, AI, and the powerful things that happen when dreaming meets doing. The resulting sold-out event kicked off something truly extraordinary: an evening dedicated to thought-provoking, innovative, or challenging topics, where audience members and speakers alike join together to engage, learn, and gain inspiration.

On November 13, 2025, Conversations for Good returns for a third incredible year with "Redefining Impact" - and we know you won't want to miss it.

Conversation for Good isn't just an inspiring evening, but a chance to make a difference in the world of social impact education - your tickets, donations, and sponsorships fund the Scott Center's ongoing research and development, expanding our impact for students in the South Bay.
